Welcome to the Knowledge Sharing Series! On select Saturdays throughout July and August, our guests will share in exciting hands-on activities and interactive storytelling that teach and inspire about Indigenous cultural history.

Anyone wanting to learn more about and connect more deeply with First Nations and Red River Métis culture is invited and encouraged to attend.

Biography: Fredrick Spence will share the traditional art of soapstone carving, which has been a source of therapeutic release as he reclaims his identity, culture and mental strength through ceremony, language classes and therapy. In addition to the technique, Spence will also share his experience as an artist: that of hard work, happiness, frustration, and the joy associated with completing a piece. Spence was born and raised in Peguis First Nation.
